Stuart R. Settle, received his BA in political science with a minor in philosophy, from Indiana University—South Bend, and received his JD and Health Law Graduate Certificate from Indiana University McKinney School of Law in 2022, and was also named to The Order of Barristers. Stuart is admitted to practice in Indiana, and the U.S. District Courts of Southern and Northern Indiana. Stuart is a member of the Indiana State Bar Association and the American Bar Association. Stuart was previously elected to served as the student representative for the Litigation section, and Health Law Section Councils, for the Indiana State Bar Association, and was also elected as the District 10 representative for the Young Lawyers Section Council. Stuart is currently serving as an At-Large representative on the Young Lawyers Section Council.

During law school Stuart worked as a law clerk at Hackman Hullett, LLP, and served as a coach for IU Mock Trial- Bloomington, and IU McKinney’s ABA National Moot Court teams. After law school Stuart worked as northern national outside counsel for a major consumer credit agency and successfully litigated cases in state and federal courts from Maine to California. Stuart would go on to practice at a general service law firm, and gained experience in areas including municipal law, business formation, IP, administrative law, federal licensing actions and appeals. His practice areas also include insurance defense, insurance coverage, first party litigation, premises liability, motor vehicle accidents, ADR, appellate, personal injury, health law, as well as real estate, business and corporate litigation. He continues to volunteer as a coach for IU McKinney’s national moot court teams, and most recently coached IU McKinney’s 2025 Wagner National Employment Law Moot Court team, who also won Best Brief.

In his free time Stuart enjoys gardening and backyard farming. Beyond some fruits and vegetables Stuart focuses on cultivating super-hot peppers. He has been working on his own unique hybrid pepper since starting the hobby in 2018. He also makes hot sauces, pepper jams, and spices, which he loves to share with those adventurous enough to try.
